Beautifully crafted and highly sought-after, Jaeger watches enjoy a reputation for being unusually reliable, with some models tested for 1000 hours before being released for sale.

Perhaps the most famous Jaeger watch is the aptly-named Reverso. Created in 1931, the Reverso was designed to meet the sporting requirements of British Army officers serving in India. As the name implies, the rectangular body can be flipped over to protect the glass, enabling it to withstand the hard knocks incurred during polo matches. The classic Reverso has developed over time and is now slightly larger than the original, reflecting a general trend toward bigger watches. Today Reversos are available with a number of different dials and complications.

Over the years Jaeger have evolved their designs and are now making superb complications as well as single-function wristwatches. They also produce a range of traditionally-styled round wristwatches based on classic 1950s proportions which house some of their most useful mechanisms, the Geographic and the Memovox being two examples.

In the past, Jaeger leCoultre often supplied watch movements to their bigger cousins in the industry. As a result, the superior finish and sophistication of their mechanisms is much respected by lovers of technical horology today. A good investment, the market for these popular watches remains robust.
