Panerai Submersible North Pole

Stainless steel watch with sapphire glass, internal magnifying lens over the calendar display. The four cardinal compass points are indicated in deep relief on the rotatable bezel. Limited edition – 500 pieces.

A concentric, triangular-tipped hand indicates the time on an inner scale graduated for twenty-four hours. The hand may be set independently of the main time display.

Black rubber strap, dark blue dial. Water resistant to 30 atmospheres, and protected from magnetic influence by an iron inner case.

The back of the watch features a domed, incised representation of the arctic region, indicating the route followed by Explorers Mike Horn and Borge Ousland from Cape Artichesky in Russia to the Geographic North Pole.

On 23 May 2006, the extreme adventurers travelled entirely unaided (without motorised or canine transport), hauling all their provisions and equipment with them. Furthermore, it is the first time in history that the Pole has been reached by these means during the Arctic winter! It means the entire journey was made at night.
